Notes
- Serve Warm with vanilla Ice Cream and enjoy
ingredients:
- 2 Cups of sugar
- 2 cups of water
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1 1/2 cup of Self rising flour
- 1/2 cup of shortening
- 1/3 cup and 1 TBSP milk
- 3 cups of fresh blackberrys
Instructions
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and stir well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves. Set aside for later use.
- Place 1/2 cup of butter in an 8×8 baking dish and heat at 350 degrees for 3 minutes or until the butter melts. Set aside for later use.
- In a medium bowl, blend the shortening into the flour until it resembles coarse meal; then add just enough milk to moisten. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently 4 or 5 times.
- Roll the dough into a 12×9 triangle.
- Distribute the blackberries evenly over the dough. Roll up the dough jelly-roll style, starting with the long side. Slice into 12 one-inch pieces. Place the slices, cut side down, in the melted butter. Drizzle the sugar syrup around the slices.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown.
